A blast
has hit a bus carrying members of Tunisia’s presidential guard, killing at
least 12 people and wounding 16 others in what the interior ministry called a
“terrorist act”.
The
blast on a tree-lined avenue in the heart of the capital Tunis is a new blow to
a country that has wriggled against Islamic extremist ferocity.
A
presidential source told Reuters that the attack was probably caused by a
bomber exploding explosives inside the vehicle.
