Nawaz Sharif installs TAPI pipeline



Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and Turkmenistan President Gubanguly Berdimuha installed TAPI gas pipeline in Marry City, Turkmenistan.
“The gas pipeline will pass through Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India,” media reported. On the occasion PM Nawaz Sharif said it is a big day for this region. “This project became possible because of political understanding of the regional leaders,” he said.
While speaking the ceremony the goal of our government is to end the lack of energy in Pakistan. “This project will increase the regional truthfulness in Central Asia and South Asian region,” he pointed out.
“We have also been working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and we invite all other regional states to be part of the project,” he stated. “TAPI gas pipeline and CPEC will increase the cordial relations among the states involved,” he asserted.
 He said that the credit goes to the leaders of Pakistan and Turkmenistan for the launch of this project. On this occasion, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan also signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which Pakistan will import electricity from Turkmenistan via Afghanistan.
Nawaz Sharif said that CASA-1000 electricity project is also being instigated expeditiously. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said that the project will change the economic landscape of this region. The TAPI reflects the huge potential of the region to move forward in different fields.
