Bacha Khan University opened after 26 days



PESHAWAR: The Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, reopened today (Monday) after 26 days of closure following the terrorist attack in which 21 students and staff members were shot dead.
Heightened security procedures have been put in place at the university. Police and other security agencies have been put on alert to provide severe security to the institution.
Talking to media Vice-chancellor Dr Fazlur Rahim Marwat said strict security procedures have been implemented, however, he could not share such measures owing to security reasons.
The VC welcomed the students in the university.
More CCTV cameras have been fitted inside the university. The boundary walls have been raised and more security guards hired to ensure protection to the university.
Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in the university and 550 teaching and non-teaching staff members are working over there. Only a few hundred of these students and staff members board in the two hostels for boys and one each for girls and staff.
