SUKKUR: Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president Khan Munwwar
Khan and Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) founder Dr
Adibul Hassan Rizvi signed a memorandum to start a cancer hospital in the city.
Sukkur is the third biggest city of Sindh
but, it lacks public and health conveniences, said Khan during the ceremony. A
56,000-square-foot plot, located on the left bank of River Indus near Agha
Qadirdad Khan Date Market, has been selected for the hospital.
Khan will provide all the funds required for
the building of the hospital and purchase of the equipment, while Rizvi will
look after the management and operations. Khan is establishing the cancer
hospital in memory of his son Khalid Khan, who died of cancer couple of years
ago. The hospital will be named, ‘SIUT Munawar Khan Cancer Hospital.’
