NEW DELHI: The Pakistan Day was
celebrated at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi today.
Talking on the event,
High Commissioner Abdul Basit told that Pakistan’s establishment was no less
than a dream. Within seven years of the Lahore Resolution in 1940 Pakistan
under the wise leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah became a reality.
Now it was our collective duty to ensure that Pakistan became a country as was envisioned
by the Quaid.
Basit said that
Pakistan wanted to have a normal relationship with India on the basis of reciprocated
respect and joint interest. This was not necessary only for promoting two-sided
cooperative relations but also regional incorporation.
It was also
necessary to resolve all our problems especially the Jammu and Kashmir argument
so as to put our relations on the permanent route of harmony and prosperity.
