Hollywood
actor Lindsay Lohan triggered quite a controversy last year when snaps of her holding
a copy of the Holy Quran had textured with many risking that the Catholic-born
actor had converted to Islam.
The
actor has finally unwrapped up about the photos for the first time and has
confirmed that she is studying the religion Islam.
“I’m
a very spiritual person and I’m really open to learning. America has depicted
holding a Holy Quran in such a different way to what it actually is. We all
believe in something and at the end of the day it all bonds to a god or a
spiritual adviser,” she said.
Conversely,
the actor isn’t done reading the Holy Book completely yet. “I’m not done
reading it. Do you know how long that would take? It takes so long.”
The Freaky Friday star is not the only one in her family
to change her beliefs, her sister Ali Lohan has converted to Buddhism. “We all
have a similar belief in whatever it may be personally. My sister is Buddhist
but she is still concerned in learning other things from me. It’s good to be
open-minded.”
If
Lohan does certainly decide to convert to Islam, she wouldn’t be the first
showbiz personality to do so. Other superstars such as Janet Jackson, Mike
Tyson, Cat Stevens, Jemima Khan and Cassius Clay have all embraced Islam in the
past.
