KPK Govt refuses offering citizenship to Darren Sammy

PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's Information Adviser, Mushtaq Ghani, delivered a disavowal after reports dispersed on local media that West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy had been offered an honorary Pakistani citizenship by Pervaiz Khattak.
"Tthe Federal government possesses this power and the chief minister cannot offer an honorary citizenship," said Ghani. Mushtaq Ghani emphasized that the chief minister cannot make such an offer and that it had been made by a fake account mimicking Khattak on social networking site Twitter.
After an explosive Pakistan Super League spell with Peshawar Zalmi and leading West Indies to their second World T20 title, the Caribbean captain, Darren Sammy was briefly thought to have achieved yet another landmark after he was allegedly offered an honorary citizenship of Pakistan.
Sammy took the offer in pace. He took twitter to thank Khattak wholeheartedly and said he accepted the offer in Pashto. With a 140 runs and 4 wickets under his belt in his ten matches for the Peshawar Zalmi, Sammy also won many hearts, especially from the people of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
