Priyanka Chopra the
actress, who is ornamenting one of the six cover pages of the magazine, got a cheering
compliment from her Baywatch co-star Dwayne Johnson also known as The Rock
which goes to show that Pee Cee has had a categorical impact on the American
audience and is here to stay.
“Before ever meeting Priyanka Chopra, I had
heard her name coming out of Bollywood and was impressed: she was beautiful,
talented, had made nearly 50 movies, earned multiple awards — a massive star,”
he wrote. “It’s an amazing time to watch as she stabs the US market. She has an
ability to inspire people to do more and achieve more. When I look at her
success from the 50,000 feet view and see everything that Priyanka has already
done, is currently doing and has the desire and the bandwidth to do, I can see
that her impact is going to be invaluable.”
Priyanka obviously took note of
Johnson’s cheering piece and took to twitter to thank the actor. “Thank you
@therock ‘so humbled by your amazing words #Time100 can’t wait to join you guys
on set for #Baywatch in a few days,” she posted alongside a snapshot of Johnson’s
compliment.
With season 2 of Quantico and along
with the prestigious Padma Shri Award, a special invitation to the White House
from President Barrack Obama and a protruding role in Baywatch, Priyanka Chopra
has speedily motivated from being the glamorous Indian actress to becoming a
global star in the past couple of years. Hence, it was only a matter of time
that the actress made it to Time magazine’s popular list of the 100 Most Dominant
People.
This year’s list also features big
names like actor Idris Elba, actress Taraji P. Henson of Empire, Caitlyn Jenner
and tennis player Sania Mirza.
